Department of Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineering is a fundamental science in the industrial society because mechanical engineering is a science system concerning on the design and the manufacturing of several types of industrial machineries.

Mechanical engineering bases on several sciences and technologies including solid mechanics, fluid-dynamics, thermodynamics, science of material, science of manufacturing, etc. The recent rapid development of electronic technology and computer technology, which has changed industrial structure on a large scale, required the change of mechanical engineering to a new type of science including anew technology called "mechatronics."

To be able to accommodate to this rapid development of industrial technology, this department prepares enriched curriculum and subjects for mastery of fundamental and extensive ability of mechanical engineering. This department is also active in introducing up-to-date facilities - e.g., engineering work stations, several robots, the multi-purpose 3-action hydraulic press and the electro-hydraulic controlled material testing machine - and these are available for student experiments and graduation research.

In this department, every student will get a good ground as a mechanical engineer with much emphasis on creativity and practice not only through attractive lectures but also well-designed practical subjects.
